Melissa has resided in Virginia since 2005 and is originally from North Carolina. She is a military veteran with over twenty years of service and is currently serving as a JAG with the Virginia National Guard. Melissa graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Political Science (cum laude) while on active duty.

After multiple deployments, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Horn of Africa, and 16 years of active service, Melissa graduated from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. During law school, she was an active participant and leader with the Veteran Military Law Association. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland. Melissa participates in outreach programs for Veterans and enjoys mentoring those transitioning from military to civilian life.

Melissa’s practice areas include business and tax planning, landlord/tenant, civil litigation, contract disputes, collections, and estate planning.

Melissa is currently on Military Leave, training for the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and a planned deployment in February of 2022, planning to return to work later in the year.
